About

Dr. Huang has been on a personal mission since graduating from NOVA Southeastern University College of Optometry in Florida in 2005. When he learned how certain types of vision problems were impacting people’s lives and saw the amazing improvement that was possible through Optometric Vision Therapy, there was no turning back. He has made this specialty service a part of his family vision care office since opening in Windsor, Ontario in 2006.
He has pursued a tremendous amount of post-graduate training and is a Board-Certified Fellow of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development, which means he provides specialized testing and treatment for vision disorders that interfere with reading, learning and other activities required for daily life.
Due to the increasing need for this specialty service, Dr. Huang opened a separate office that focuses on these services. In addition to providing family vision care at EyeCare First, the Vision Therapy Clinic is dedicated to helping children and adults of all ages to develop or rehabilitate the visual skills required for reading, learning, work, sports and life.
Dr. Huang shares his passion with his patients including children who struggle with reading, those who have eye turns (strabismus) or lazy eye (amblyopia) and those who struggle with visual problems resulting from head injuries such as concussions or stroke:
“I love seeing the faces of our patients as they discover how to use their eyes correctly and go from struggling to realizing they can now achieve to their peak potential.”
“I also really enjoy hearing our patients joy as they discover how to use their eyes correctly or when they see 3D for the first time.”
“Helping concussion patients who struggle as a result of vision problems due to their injuries, means a lot to me.”
